Spatzwear Atak Pak Jacket

Every now and then a product comes along that genuinely changes how cyclists dress for the ride. The ATAK PAK is designed to do exactly that.

Created to solve the age-old problem of needing a rain or wind layer without wanting to carry one, it combines a water-repellent, windproof and breathable jacket with its own permanently attached storage pouch. When needed, the pouch simply turns inside-out to release the jacket. When worn, the pack lies flat and becomes completely unnoticeable.

When conditions improve, the jacket stuffs quickly back into the bag, which mounts securely to the saddle, bars, stem or rack using a dial-fastener. Tested extensively over an 18-month period by Spatz founder Tom Barras, the system stays out of the way until weather demands an extra layer—and frees up all jersey pocket space normally taken by a packable jacket.

The jacket itself is featherweight with long arms, a dropped rear for cycling posture, taped seams to block moisture, a fast-drying breathable fabric, reflective detailing and elasticated cuffs paired with a premium zipper. It is a practical, elegant solution designed by lifelong cyclists who build garments for real winter miles and tough conditions.
