Everything you need to know about Bicycle Specific Bearings
Today's modern bikes rely on the use of cartridge bearings in most parts that move or rotate. As a result your bike won't function without them. If your a home mechanic or would rather have us look after your bike we keep a full range of Enduro bearings in-stock.
At The Bike Rack we are all cyclists and know how annoying it is to be without your bike for a long period of time while waiting on parts. As a result we try to keep all the commonly used bearings in stock at all times to ensure you can get back on the road/trails as soon as possible. In the case of any less commonly used bearings. Our suppliers can usually have them with us in a few days.
If you wish to order bearings for self installing they are available on the site and if you require bearings drop us an email to
Types of bearings
Enduro Abec 3 Bearings
For anything that involves spinning we reccomend the use of Enduro Abec 3 bearings.
- Bottom Brackets
- Jockey Wheels
These offer a long service life and low drag, meaning your bearings will spin freely for longer.
Grade 10 Chromium Steel Balls: High precision balls are within 10/1,000,000″ round, twice as round as the industry standard, at it’s highest level.
52100 High Carbon Chromium Alloy Races: Vacuum de-gassed process for the purest chromium alloy steel, hardened to R-62, extremely tough and very durable.
Polished to a mirror finish for ABEC-3 precision and noiseless movement.
Riveted Steel Retainer for toughness, ABEC-3 tolerances and noise tested, C-3 or C-N Internal Clearance
Enduro Max Bearings
For use in Suspension pivots and any application that involves movement back and forth rather than full rotation we reccomend the use of Enduro Max bearings.
- Frame Bearings
They offer greater durability compared to an Enduro Abec 3 bearing and are designed particularly with suspension pivots in mind.
Designed specifically for suspension pivots, Enduro Bearings pioneered MAX type bearings almost 20 years ago for bicycles to address the challenges associated with mountain bike pivots. These bearings have 35-40% more load capacity than standard radial bearings. We accomplish this with a special design where the maximum number of balls are inserted into the bearing. The race grooves are deeper on these bearings for more lateral support for the twisting and multiple forces associated with mountain bike pivots. LLU seals give maximum protection against the elements, while keeping the 90% fill of Almagard Extra High Pressure Grease inside.
